British Columbia Expands India Trade Ties
British Columbia, a province in Canada, is sending its leader, Premier David Eby, to India to make new friends and do more business.
The trip is from January 12 to 17.
They want to sell more things like clean energy, special rocks, and wood to India because the United States is making it hard for them to sell things there.
India is a big market, and British Columbia thinks they can help India with clean energy and other important things.
They also want to create more jobs in their province.
This trip is part of a bigger plan to sell more things to countries that are not the United States.
British Columbia's Premier David Eby leads a trade mission to India from 12-17 January.
The mission aims to diversify trade and reduce dependence on the US due to tariffs.
Key sectors include clean energy, critical minerals, sustainable forestry, and responsible mining.
British Columbia has the highest share of exports to India among Canadian provinces.
The province seeks to double exports to non-US markets over the next decade.
