Indian Box Office Sees Growth in 2025
In 2025, the Indian box office made a lot of money, about Rs 13,397 crore.
This is 13% more than the year before.
Hindi movies and international films did really well, and even smaller languages like Gujarati had a big jump.
The most successful movie was Dhurandhar, which made over Rs 950 crore in India and Rs 1,300 crore worldwide.
There were also many different types of movies that did well, not just action films.
However, fewer people went to the movies overall, but more money was spent on tickets.
This shows that the Indian movie market is becoming more diverse and strong.
Indian box office collections reached Rs 13,397 crore in 2025, a 13% increase from 2024.
Hindi and international films saw a strong revival, with Dhurandhar being the top-grossing film domestically and worldwide.
Gujarati cinema was a surprise performer, growing more than three times its previous year's collections.
Ticket sales (footfalls) decreased by 6% to 832 million, while average ticket prices rose by 20%.
37 films crossed Rs 100 crore in gross box office, up from 22 in 2024, showing a diverse range of hits across genres and languages.
