Benin opposition fails to win parliamentary seats

In Benin, a country in West Africa, there was a big vote to choose people for the parliament.

The two groups that support the current president, Patrice Talon, won all the seats.

The main group that didn't support the president, called the Democrats, didn't win any seats because they didn't get enough votes.

They needed 20% of the votes to get seats, but they only got 16.14%.

Some people from the Democrats said the vote wasn't fair because there were problems like polling stations opening late and not enough voting machines.

The people in charge of the vote said there were some small problems, but they fixed them quickly.

Not many people voted, only about 37%.

This vote happened a little over a month after some soldiers tried to take over the government, but they didn't succeed.

The next big vote for the president will happen in April 2024, and then President Talon will have to step down after 10 years.
