Court Allows Media Entry During Majithia Trial
A court in Punjab has allowed journalists to enter the courtroom during the trial of a political leader named Bikram Singh Majithia.
Earlier, a lower court had said no to this, but now the higher court has changed that decision.
The journalists' union, called the Active Journalists Union of Punjab, asked the court to let them in.
The court agreed and said that journalists can watch the trial.
This is important because it lets the public know what is happening in the court.
A special court allowed media entry during the trial of SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia.
The order was a reversal of a previous ban by the Mohali Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM).
The application was moved by the Active Journalists Union of Punjab (AJUP) on July 17, 2025.
The plea was argued by advocate Damandeep Singh.
The initial order was passed with the mutual consent of counsel for the Vigilance Bureau and the accused.
