GHMC Delegation Studies Rajkot's Urban Best Practices
A group from Hyderabad's city government went to Rajkot to learn about how Rajkot keeps its city clean and well-managed.
They saw many good practices, like no big banners on the streets, special guards for young trees, and a different way to collect trash from homes.
They also plan to do a big cleanup in Hyderabad to collect old electronics safely.
The group will share what they learned and suggest ways to make Hyderabad cleaner and better.
GHMC delegation visited Rajkot to study urban best practices in sanitation, waste management, and civic services.
Notable observations included the absence of flex banners, tree guards, and integrated waste collection fees.
Rajkot's waste collection fee is integrated into property tax: Rs 350 annually for residential and Rs 730 for commercial properties.
GHMC will conduct a mega e-waste collection drive on 12 and 13 January across all 300 wards in Hyderabad.
Awareness campaigns for the e-waste drive will start on 9 January, involving sanitation workers, RWAs, NGOs, and Self-Help Groups.
