Toll Collection Begins on Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway
Imagine a new, faster road between Bengaluru and Chennai, but it's not quite finished yet.
The first part of the road, in Karnataka, is now charging drivers a fee, like paying to use a bridge.
If you drive a car, it costs around Rs 185-190 for a one-way trip.
If you drive frequently, you can buy a monthly pass.
This money helps pay for the road.
The rest of the road, in other states, is still being built and is expected to be fully ready by July 2026.
Toll collection has begun on the 71km Karnataka stretch of the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway.
Tolls apply for travel between Hoskote and Kolar Gold Fields (KGF).
Car owners pay Rs 185-190 for a single trip, depending on direction.
Monthly passes are available for frequent users.
The complete expressway, including sections in other states, is due for completion by July 2026.
