Urea Availability Adequate in Telangana for 2025 Kharif Season
The government says Telangana had enough urea for the 2025 Kharif season.
They supplied 10.28 lakh tonnes, which was more than the 9.80 lakh tonnes needed.
There was a small amount left over.
For the current Rabi season, they have 2.29 lakh tonnes, which is also enough.
Telangana had complained about a shortage, but the government says they actually had enough urea.
The state government is in charge of distributing the urea within Telangana.
Telangana received 10.28 lakh tonnes of urea during the 2025 Kharif season, exceeding the required 9.80 lakh tonnes.
Fertiliser sales totaled 9.79 lakh tonnes, leaving a closing stock of 49,000 tonnes by September 30.
For the ongoing Rabi 2025-26 season, Telangana has 2.29 lakh tonnes of urea, deemed adequate.
Telangana had complained about a urea shortfall of over 3 lakh tonnes during August-September 2025.
The Union government maintains that supplies met and exceeded the state's requirements.
