Leanne Morgan & Chuck Lorre on New Netflix Sitcom
Leanne Morgan, a stand-up comedian, is getting her own sitcom on Netflix called "Leanne."
The show is based on her own life and experiences, especially after her success with viral clips during the pandemic.
In the show, a grandmother's life is turned upside down when her husband leaves her.
The sitcom was created with the help of Chuck Lorre, a famous comedy creator.
Morgan and Lorre talked about why sitcoms aren't as popular now as they used to be and how hard it is to bring a comedian's style of talking to the small screen.
Leanne Morgan's new Netflix series, "Leanne", is inspired by her stand-up comedy.
The series centers around a grandmother whose life changes when her husband leaves after 33 years of marriage.
Morgan's path to the sitcom was unconventional, starting with stand-up after selling jewelry door-to-door.
Chuck Lorre, known for comedies, teamed with Morgan and Susan McMartin to create the series.
The duo discussed the sitcom's decline and translating a stand-up's voice to television on the "Comedy Means Business" podcast.
