GST Benefits Not Passed to Consumers
In Tirupati, a meeting was held with medical and drug traders to discuss how they are not passing on the benefits of reduced GST rates to consumers.
The traders were found to be using old stock and other excuses to charge higher prices.
The officials warned that strict action will be taken against those who do not pass on the GST benefits.
The traders agreed to show the GST benefits on every invoice, shift to the regular taxpayer category, pay profession tax, complete required registrations, and file all statutory returns on time.
This meeting was part of the GST 2.0 implementation process.
