Mamata Banerjee lays Durga Angan foundation
Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, started building a big place called Durga Angan to honor Goddess Durga.
This place will be near Eco Park in New Town and will cost Rs 261.99 crore.
It will have space for many people to visit, with 108 idols and 64 lion statues.
The complex will be open all year and will have shops and places for cultural performances.
The government and a temple trust are paying for it, and it will create jobs.
Mamata Banerjee also talked about protecting democracy and criticized the BJP for causing trouble in the country.
She dedicated the temple to the people of Bengal and said it will be a green building with many trees and plants.
Additionally, she assured the protection of Waqf properties and religious institutions.

The project, costing Rs 261.99 crore, will be built on 17.28 acres near Eco Park, New Town.
Durga Angan will accommodate up to one lakh devotees daily and feature 108 idols and 64 lion statues.
The complex will include a 54-feet high garbha griha, 300 trees, 1,000 flowering plants, and a 20-feet pathway inside the temple.
Mamata Banerjee criticized the BJP for unleashing a reign of terror in the country and emphasized her commitment to protecting democracy and the pride of Bengal's people, and assured protection for Waqf properties.
