165 Illegal PG Accommodations Discovered in Bengaluru East in One Day
Imagine many students or workers need a place to stay, like a shared house, called a PG.
Some of these PGs aren't following the rules, like not having permission to open, not being safe enough, or not being clean.
In Bengaluru, officials checked many of these places and found 165 that were breaking the rules.
They told the owners they have a week to fix things and get a proper license.
If they don't, the officials might fine them or even close their PGs.
This is important because some people have complained about loud parties and safety problems in these PGs, especially for girls staying there.
The city wants to make sure everyone has a safe and clean place to live.
Bengaluru East City Municipal Corporation identified 165 illegal PG accommodations in a single day.
These PGs were found to be operating without licenses and violating safety and hygiene norms.
Owners have been given a seven-day deadline to obtain permits, with potential fines and sealing from November 7.
Concerns have been raised by residents about late-night parties and safety issues, particularly for female occupants.
This is the first major enforcement drive against unauthorized PGs since the formation of the Greater Bengaluru Authority.
