Saregama to Revive Classics with AI-Generated Music Videos
Saregama, an old Indian music company, is using artificial intelligence (AI) to update its old songs with new music videos.
They plan to create AI-generated videos for about 20,000 songs and also make entire movies using AI.
This will let them create new videos and films for much less money than before.
Saregama hopes this will bring in lots of money.
The company is investing about ₹200 crore in the AI video project and plans to release their first AI film within a year.
Other companies like Warner Music and Universal Music Group are also experimenting with AI for music and videos.
Saregama will use AI to create modern music videos for its library of classic songs.
The company plans to invest around ₹200 crore to convert 20,000 songs into AI-generated videos.
Saregama is also exploring the production of AI-generated films.
The first AI film is expected to roll out within the next 12 months.
The company's FY25 revenue was ₹1,171.3 crore with music as its largest revenue contributor.
