NFR Completes 96.43% Electrification in Tinsukia Division
The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has completed 96.43% of its electrification work in the Tinsukia Division.
This means that most of the railway tracks in this area now use electricity instead of fossil fuels.
A big inspection was done by Yogesh Partaity, the principal chief electrical engineer, who checked the newly electrified sections between Tinsukia-Dangari and Makum-Ledo.
The railway tested the electric trains and found that they work well.
This is a big step towards making train travel faster, cheaper, and better for the environment.
The NFR hopes to finish all electrification soon, which will help the trains run more smoothly and reduce pollution.
NFR has completed 96.43% of electrification in the Tinsukia Division, covering 4,170.19 RKM out of 4,324.15 RKM.
The inspection covered 90.31 RKM and 106.10 TKM of the Tinsukia-Dangari and Makum-Ledo sections.
Overhead equipment (OHE) was successfully energized, and electric locomotive tests were conducted at full sectional speed.
The electrification aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce fossil fuel dependence, and lower carbon emissions.
Completion of full electrification in the Tinsukia Division is expected to improve train operations and reduce operating costs.
