India's Cricket Struggles Under New Leadership
The episode 'Change' from 'Rise of Champions' talks about how the Indian cricket team has been doing in big tournaments like the ICC T20 World Cup and the ICC ODI World Cup.
The team has new leaders, Rohit Sharma as captain and Rahul Dravid as coach.
Some people think the team played too safely in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final and didn't play with the same courage they had before.
In the 2023 ODI World Cup final, which was at home, the team chose a pitch that wasn't good for their style of play.
This, along with the pressure of playing in a big final, made them lose focus and eventually the match.
Many former players and captains shared their thoughts on what went wrong and how the team can improve.
India's performance in the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup semi-final was criticized for being too cautious and lacking the fearless style of play seen earlier in the tournament.
Rohit Sharma's leadership was praised for India's strong start in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, but the team's pitch selection for the final was deemed a blunder.
The pressure of playing a big final at home was cited as a reason for India's loss in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup final.
Former players and captains, including Sanjay Manjrekar, Aaron Finch, and Matthew Hayden, shared their perspectives on India's struggles and setbacks.
