Arunachal Dispatches First Cut-Flower Consignment
Arunachal Pradesh sent its first batch of cut flowers to Guwahati, Assam.
This is a big deal because it's the first time the state is selling flowers like this.
The flowers were grown by farmers in Lower Subansiri district and earned them Rs 1 lakh.
The government is helping farmers grow more flowers and fruits.
They also applied for a special tag for oranges from Upper Subansiri district.
This tag will help protect and promote these oranges.
The government also started a program to recognize farmers who are doing great work in growing fruits and flowers.
Meanwhile, Mizoram was named the 'Ginger Capital of India' by the NITI Aayog.
This recognition is because of the hard work of Mizoram's farmers, who have made ginger farming very successful.
The state government is also supporting farmers by providing machines for processing ginger and ensuring fair procurement.
Arunachal Pradesh dispatched its first consignment of 2,000 Asiatic Lilium stems to Guwahati, Assam, earning farmers approximately Rs 1 lakh in revenue.
The initiative is supported under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH).
A Geographical Indication (GI) application has been filed for oranges from Upper Subansiri district.
The 'Harvest of the Month' initiative was launched to recognize progressive farmers in the horticulture sector.
