WFP: Famine Risk in Areas South of Sudan's Capital
Imagine that some places south of Sudan's capital city are facing a really bad food shortage, meaning people don't have enough to eat, and are at risk of famine.
The World Food Programme (WFP) says this is happening and that people are very hungry and struggling.
The WFP has found that things are really bad there.
They are facing a funding shortfall of $500 million for emergency food and cash assistance.
Without more help, they won't be able to give people the food they need.
WFP warns of famine risk in areas south of Khartoum, Sudan.
The agency found severe hunger and desperation in the affected areas.
Funding shortfalls have led to reduced food rations.
The WFP has reached one million people in Khartoum after gaining access.
