ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Income Falls 6% Amid Lower Realizations
ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, which makes steel in India, made a bit less money in the last three months.
Their income went down by 6%.
This happened even though they made and sold more steel than before.
The reason for the lower income was that they got paid less for each ton of steel they sold.
However, the company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) went up by 9% because they shipped more steel overall.
Meanwhile, the bigger, worldwide ArcelorMittal company did much better.
Their profits more than doubled, and their sales also increased.
The CEO mentioned that the market is tough right now but is hopeful for the future, especially with supportive government policies expected in 2026.
ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India's income decreased by 6% to $1.5 billion in the September quarter due to lower realisations.
Despite lower income, production rose to 1.83 million tonnes and sales increased to 1.94 million tonnes.
EBITDA for the Indian operations grew by 9% to $217 million, primarily due to higher shipment volumes.
Globally, ArcelorMittal reported a 31% rise in net income to $377 million and a 3% increase in sales to $15.65 billion for the same period.
ArcelorMittal announced the issuance of €650 million in notes due 2030 for general corporate purposes and refinancing.
