Musk Aims for 2026 Mars Voyage Despite Recent Setbacks
Elon Musk plans to send the Starship spacecraft to Mars by the end of 2026, aiming for a quick trip using a special planetary alignment.
This first trip won't have any humans but will include Tesla's Optimus robots.
Musk is aware it might not work and gives it a 50/50 chance, but they are working to get it done.
If it's not ready, SpaceX will wait.
This mission will take advantage of a close alignment between Earth and Mars, a good opportunity for travel.
Previous tests of the Starship have had problems with explosions and failures.
Elon Musk aims for an uncrewed Starship voyage to Mars by late 2026.
The 2026 target has a 50/50 chance of success, according to Musk.
The mission will utilize a planetary alignment offering a shorter transit time.
The first mission will carry Optimus humanoid robots.
Starship's ninth test flight ended in failure.
