Bagmati River flows above danger mark in Bihar's Muzaffarpur

Bagmati River flows above danger mark in Bihar's Muzaffarpur

There has been a lot of rain in Nepal lately.

Because of that rain, the water in the rivers of North Bihar in India is going up.

One river, called the Bagmati, has crossed its danger mark, which means the water is very high.

The water level at a place called Kataujha is now higher than the level officials say is safe.

The Gandak and Burhi Gandak rivers are also getting higher, but they are not at the danger mark yet.

People who work for the water department are watching the rivers day and night.

They are checking the river levels and the walls built to stop floods.

The people in charge have told people who live near the rivers to be careful.

They are ready to start rescue operations if the water gets even higher.

A control room has been opened in Patna to keep track of the situation.

Everyone is hoping the rivers do not rise any more.
