FIA Suspends Warwick as Canadian GP Steward for Unauthorized Driver Remarks
Imagine a referee in a big sports game who talks badly about the players to the news.
That's what happened in Formula 1.
Derek Warwick, a former racer, was a referee (a steward) for the Canadian Grand Prix.
But he made some comments about current drivers that he wasn't supposed to.
Because of this, the people in charge said he couldn't be a referee at the race.
Another person took his place.
Warwick said he was sorry and will be a referee again at a later race.
Former F1 driver Derek Warwick was suspended as a steward for the Canadian Grand Prix.
The suspension was due to unauthorized media comments about current drivers.
Warwick's comments were circulated by a gambling firm and criticized Lando Norris, Lance Stroll, and Yuki Tsunoda.
Enrique Bernoldi replaced Warwick for the remainder of the event.
Warwick apologized and will resume his duties at the Austrian Grand Prix.
