Joe Root urges sensible celebrations after England seal series
England won the cricket series against Pakistan after beating them at Lord’s.
They won the second Test by 194 runs.
England had also won the first Test at Leeds.
After the victory, Joe Root told his teammates to celebrate sensibly.
This came after attention on an off-field incident involving England bowler Brydon Carse.
Root did not score many runs in this match, but he still broke Ricky Ponting’s record for Test runs at home.
He said the ball and pitches have made batting difficult this season.
Root believes he is still playing well and expects a big score soon.
England beat Pakistan by 194 runs at Lord’s to win the three-Test series.
Joe Root urged teammates to celebrate the victory in a “sensible, grown-up way.”
England had previously won the first Test at Leeds by an innings and 103 runs.
Root surpassed Ricky Ponting’s record for the most Test runs scored at home, despite modest scores in the match.
Root attributed challenging batting conditions partly to ball movement, overcast weather, rain and harder-seaming wickets.
