Congress MP Claims CIA, Mossad Plotted 2014 Election Defeat

A former Congress MP, Kumar Ketkar, has claimed that the US intelligence agency CIA and Israel's Mossad were involved in plotting the Congress party's defeat in the 2014 Indian general elections.

He believes that the Congress party should have won around 250 seats based on previous election trends, but their seats dropped to 44.

Ketkar alleges that these foreign agencies wanted to prevent a stable Congress government to interfere in India's policies.

On the other hand, the BJP has accused the Congress of running digital networks from abroad to push an anti-India narrative, using a new feature on X (formerly Twitter) that shows users' actual locations.

The Congress has dismissed these claims as baseless and ignorant, stating that the BJP is trying to divert attention from their own issues.

Historically, there have been allegations of foreign intervention in Indian politics, with both the CIA and KGB being mentioned in various contexts.
