Gleneagles BGS Hospital Performs Pioneering Non-Surgical Thyroid Treatment

A hospital in Bengaluru did a special treatment for a lady with a non-cancerous lump in her thyroid.

Normally, such lumps are treated with surgery, but this time, the doctors used two different methods together.

First, they blocked the blood supply to the lump, and then they used heat to destroy it.

This was all done without surgery, using just a small needle and ultrasound.

The lady didn't need stitches or a long recovery time and went home the same day.

The lump shrank a lot, and she felt much better.

This new method could make thyroid treatments easier and cheaper in the future.
