What Does Elon Musk Spend His Billions On?
Imagine a person who is about to become super, super rich, like the richest ever!
This person is Elon Musk, and a company he leads, Tesla, just gave him a big reward that could be worth a trillion dollars.
People are wondering what he does with all that money.
Some people say he lives very simply, like in a small house and doesn't buy fancy things, almost like he doesn't have much money at all.
He also owns some really old and unusual cars, like a car from a James Bond movie that can go underwater!
He also has private planes so he can work more.
But, he used to own many big houses and some people think he doesn't live as simply as he says.
He also gives money to charities, but some people think he does it to save money on taxes and that he doesn't give enough.
He believes his work to create new technologies is a form of helping people.
Elon Musk is set to become the world's first trillionaire following Tesla shareholders' approval of his $1 trillion performance-based pay package.
Despite his wealth, Musk reportedly lives a modest lifestyle, claiming to reside in a $50,000 Texas home and sometimes living 'below the poverty line'.
His car collection includes unique vehicles like a James Bond Lotus Esprit and a Ford Model T, and he owns private jets for work.
Musk previously owned seven homes in Bel-Air worth $100 million, though he now claims to be largely without a permanent home.
His philanthropy has drawn criticism for being potentially self-serving and haphazard, with questions raised about the Musk Foundation's donation practices and amounts.
