Kolkata to get unified digital parking system with mobile app
In Kolkata, a big city in India, finding a place to park a car can be difficult.
The government wants to make parking easier and fairer.
They are building a special digital system for parking.
People will use a mobile app on their phones.
With this app, drivers can look for empty parking spots.
They can pay for parking without using cash.
The app will give them a digital receipt after they pay.
Drivers can even book a parking spot before they arrive.
All the official parking spaces in the city will be part of one big network.
The goal is to stop unfair parking practices and make traffic flow better.
The West Bengal government is set to roll out a unified digital parking system in Kolkata.
All authorised parking spaces across the city will be integrated under a single digital network.
Commuters will be able to check parking slots, make cashless payments, and receive digital receipts via a dedicated mobile app.
The platform will allow advanced booking of parking slots.
The decision was finalised in a high-level meeting at Nabanna, the state secretariat, to eliminate parking irregularities and streamline traffic.
