This place is very important because it's where Olive Ridley sea turtles come to lay their eggs.
The government has a rule that says no fishing is allowed in this area for seven months to keep the turtles safe.
The fishermen were using boats and nets, which can hurt or even kill the turtles.
The forest officials took away their fishing equipment and sent them to jail.
This has happened to many other fishermen too, as the government is trying hard to protect these special turtles.
