Goa Passes Tourism Bill, Cracking Down on Nuisance
Goa has made a new law to make tourist areas better.
It's like giving the beaches and attractions a good clean-up.
The law says people can't bother tourists to buy things or make a mess.
If they do, they might have to pay a fine.
Also, the government can change the amount of the fine every couple of years.
The goal is to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time in Goa.
Goa passed the Goa Tourist Places (Protection and Maintenance) Amendment Bill, 2025.
The bill aims to crack down on unauthorized touting and maintain order.
The law broadens the definition of "nuisance" in tourist areas.
Offenders can face a minimum fine of ₹5,000, up to ₹1 lakh.
The government can revise penalties by up to 10% every two years.
