Mizoram Government Reviews School Staffing, Teacher Recruitment Plans
Mizoram’s leaders held a meeting about its schools and teachers.
They looked at empty jobs for education officers.
The government has approved hiring teachers for primary, middle and high schools.
Some of these teachers will be hired this year, while others will be recruited later.
Leaders also discussed creating a new Mizoram Education Service.
They considered directly hiring Hindi Education Officers.
They talked about running some schools with private partners.
They also considered merging or closing schools that have very few students.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma reviewed vacancies and staffing issues in Mizoram’s School Education department.
Officials discussed recruiting 671 regular primary teachers, 544 contractual middle-school teachers and 107 regular high-school teachers in phases.
The government plans to fill 100 primary, 212 middle-school and 57 high-school posts during the current financial year.
The meeting considered promotions, the proposed Mizoram Education Service and direct recruitment for Hindi Education Officer posts.
Officials also discussed public-private partnerships and merging or closing schools with very low enrolment.
