Burnham Visits Kyiv, Pledges Continued British Support for Ukraine

Andy Burnham, Britain’s prime minister, visited Kyiv to show support for Ukraine.

He went there during Ukraine’s Independence Day celebrations.

He also met allies who are helping Ukraine in its war with Russia.

Burnham played a few guitar chords beside a Ukrainian soldier.

Reports said he played a song by the British band The Smiths.

He visited a shopping centre damaged by a Russian attack.

Burnham said Britain would keep helping Ukraine defend itself.

The Kremlin said British help was making the war last longer.
