Delhi plans 'Parivar Pehchan' family card to track scheme beneficiaries
The Delhi government wants to give every family in the city a special card called a family card.
The card will have information about all the people in the family.
It will also show if anyone in the family is already getting help from the government.
This helps the government make sure its help goes to the right people.
The card will be given in the name of the oldest woman in the family.
Each card will have a special number connected to Aadhaar.
The idea is similar to a system already used in Haryana.
A new law called 'Parivar Pehchan' will make this possible.
A special office, possibly led by the chief minister, will take care of the whole system.
The Delhi government plans to enact 'Parivar Pehchan' legislation to formally introduce family cards.
The family card aims to ensure welfare scheme benefits reach genuine beneficiaries.
Each family card will be issued in the name of the eldest female member and linked to Aadhaar.
The system is modelled on Haryana's 'Parivar Pehchan Patra' scheme.
A 'Parivar Pehchan Authority', likely headed by the chief minister, will implement and monitor the system.
