Noel Tata Seeks PMO Meeting Over Tata Sons Listing

Noel Tata Seeks PMO Meeting Over Tata Sons Listing

Noel Tata leads Tata Trusts, which owns a large share of Tata Sons.

He wants to explain to the Prime Minister’s Office why he opposes putting Tata Sons on the stock market.

He says public investors could make it harder for the company to make long-term choices.

The Trusts own about 66% of Tata Sons.

Tata Sons’ board supported keeping the company private in March 2024, and the two main Trusts repeated that view in July 2025.

The Reserve Bank of India’s rules have added pressure on Tata Sons to list.

People have tried to help the two sides reach an agreement, but they have not succeeded.

The disagreement also concerns whether N Chandrasekaran should continue as chairman.

Government officials say they are watching the dispute but are not taking sides.
