Manoj Jarange Leaves Jalna For Mumbai Over Maratha Quota

Manoj Jarange is protesting for reservation benefits for the Maratha community.

He has been fasting for many days and says he will continue until the community’s demands are addressed.

On Tuesday, he left his village in Jalna district and started traveling toward Mumbai.

He wants to hold a protest at Azad Maidan on September 19.

Mumbai Police have not given permission for the protest, citing safety and law-and-order concerns during the Ganesh festival.

Jarange changed his plan and is traveling with only a small group of associates.

Many supporters still gathered, and a large convoy followed him.

Police sent hundreds of personnel to manage security and traffic.

Jarange says he may approach the Bombay High Court if permission is refused again.
