Bengaluru North Corporation Orders Waste Clearance from Vacant Plots, Cost Recovery from Owners
Imagine empty lots in Bengaluru are becoming messy trash dumps.
The city's boss, Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar, went to see these places early one morning.
He told his workers to clean up all the trash and yucky spots on these empty lots.
If the owners of these lots can't be found or if there are arguments about who owns them, the city will clean it up anyway.
Then, the city will add the cleaning cost to the owner's property tax bill so they have to pay later.
This is to make sure the city stays clean even when owners aren't taking care of their land.
