AC Prices to Stabilize Despite BEE Rating Changes
There will be a change in the BEE rating for air conditioners starting in January 2026, which will make them more expensive.
However, the government is planning to cut the goods and services tax (GST) in September 2025.
This tax cut will help lower the price of ACs again, so they will cost about the same as they did before the GST cut.
A person from LG Electronics India said this will make sure the new prices are not too different from the old ones.
BEE rating changes for ACs will come into effect from January 2026, increasing prices.
A GST cut in September 2025 will offset the initial price increase.
The net effect is expected to stabilize AC prices to pre-GST cut levels.
Sanjay Chitkara, Co-Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of LG Electronics India, made the announcement.
The changes aim to balance the impact of higher BEE ratings with tax relief.
