Pawana Dam Nears Full Capacity
The Pawana Dam, which supplies water to Pimpri-Chinchwad, has almost reached full capacity with 92.27% storage.
This is great news because earlier this year, the dam had very low water levels, and the city had to reduce water supply.
Now, with more rain, the water levels have gone up.
However, officials are still being careful and keeping some water restrictions in place.
They want to make sure there's enough water for everyone, especially as the city's population is expected to grow a lot in the coming years.
The city is also planning new projects to manage water better in the future.
Pawana Dam's storage has risen to 92.27%, bringing relief to Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The dam had dropped to 16% storage in June, prompting a 15% water cut.
Rainfall in the catchment area has helped restore the dam's water levels.
The water cut will continue until the dam reaches full capacity or October.
Pimpri-Chinchwad's population is projected to grow significantly, increasing water demand.
