Police Allege 17-Person Interstate Cancer Medicine Syndicate Diverted Drugs

Police say 17 people were involved in an alleged medicine racket.

The medicines were supposed to go to cancer patients.

Investigators allege that some hospital workers took medicines and passed them to other people.

Traders and middlemen then moved the medicines between cities.

Some sellers allegedly sold the drugs without proper invoices or licences.

Police also found 23 suspected counterfeit medicines in Hyderabad.

The largest reported recovery was 337 anti-cancer vials from a person in Noida.

Police are still checking money trails and looking for anyone else who may have been involved.
