Greater Noida Police Encounter: Two Robbery Suspects Arrested After Gunfight
In a place called Greater Noida in India, police caught two people they say had been robbing and stealing from others.
The police were checking cars when a family called them for help.
The family said a young man had been robbed and that the robbers wanted even more money.
The police found a red car that looked suspicious and chased it.
When the car stopped, the police say the people inside shot at them first, so the police shot back.
Two people were caught, and they were hurt in the fight and taken to a hospital.
Police found guns, phones, knives and money in the car.
The two people are accused of robbing two young men, one who is 18 years old and one who is 27 years old.
Police say the suspects made the victims' families send money online.
The suspects now face serious charges, including attempted murder and robbery.
Two alleged criminals were arrested after an encounter with Greater Noida police in the Rabupura area during a vehicle-checking operation.
The suspects are accused of abducting and robbing 18-year-old Naman of ₹800 near Zero Point and 27-year-old Hemendra of ₹3,000 near a private university in Dankaur.
Hemendra's family transferred ₹5,000 after being forced to make an online payment, and alerted police through the 112 helpline when the accused allegedly demanded another ₹50,000.
Police chased and surrounded a suspicious red Hyundai i20; the suspects allegedly opened fire, and police retaliated before arresting them.
Police seized pistols, cartridges, mobile phones, a knife and looted cash, and registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act, though reports conflict on injuries (the headline says one suspect was injured, the article body says two suffered leg wounds).
