WhatsApp Developing Guest Calls For Account-Free Browser Participation
WhatsApp is working on a new way for people to join calls without having a WhatsApp account.
A host would create a special call link and send it to others.
Guests could open the link in a web browser.
They would not need to install the app or sign up.
The host would have to approve every guest before they joined.
The host could also remove people or end the call.
WhatsApp expects the calls to keep its usual end-to-end encryption.
The feature is still being developed and may not be available soon.
WhatsApp is developing guest calling so people without accounts can join voice and video calls through browser links.
Guests would not need to download WhatsApp or create an account, and the feature would operate through WhatsApp Web.
Hosts could create and share call links, then manually approve each guest before they enter.
Hosts would be able to add or remove participants and end calls for everyone.
The feature is still in development, has not reached beta testers, and has no announced rollout timeline.
