Gurugram Biker Sia Rejects Accused Driver’s Crash Defence
Sia was riding her motorcycle in Gurugram when a car hit it.
She says videos show the car moving across lanes and striking her on purpose.
She also says the car followed her and its occupants tried to make her stop.
After the crash, the car drove away instead of checking whether she was hurt.
Sia says her motorcycle was dragged for nearly 300 metres and that she later developed pain and scrapes.
The accused driver, Kalyan Bainsla, agrees that the crash was his fault.
However, he says he lost control near a U-turn and did not hit her deliberately.
He says he did not stop because he feared the bikers would attack him and his family.
Police have identified him, while Sia is seeking action against all four people in the car.
Sia said video footage shows Kalyan Bainsla’s car crossing lanes, hitting her motorcycle and leaving the scene.
She rejected Bainsla’s claims that the collision was accidental, that he did not know a woman was riding, and that he feared an attack.
Bainsla admitted the crash was his fault but said he lost control near a U-turn while asking the bikers to slow down.
Sia’s complaint alleges the car’s occupants harassed her, appeared intoxicated and dragged her motorcycle nearly 300 metres.
Police identified Bainsla, began legal proceedings under reported Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions and formed three teams to apprehend him.
