Army Deployed in Assam After Violent Clashes
In Assam, India, there was a fight between two groups, the Bodo and Adivasi, on January 19.
It started when a car with Bodo people hit two Adivasi people.
This led to a big argument and violence.
The Adivasi people beat the Bodo people and set their car on fire.
After this, both groups blocked a big road and set some houses and an office on fire.
The government stopped the internet to prevent more problems and sent special police and the army to help control the situation.
The army is now patrolling the area to keep everyone safe.
Some people had to leave their homes and are staying in relief camps.
Violent clashes between Bodo and Adivasi communities in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts, Assam, resulted in two deaths and three injuries.
The army has been deployed in sensitive areas, with four columns currently in Kokrajhar district.
The situation escalated with communities blocking the National Highway, burning tyres, and setting ablaze a government office and a police outpost.
Prohibitory orders have been imposed, and internet/mobile data services have been suspended in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts.
Relief camps have been set up for villagers who fled their homes fearing attacks.
