17 Kannadigas Remain Untraced After Nepal Floods

Floods and landslides in Nepal have made it difficult to find some travelers from Karnataka.

Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar said 17 people from the state are still untraced.

Officials are trying to learn where they are and whether they are safe.

Some travelers have been located, and a few are talking with their families.

The Karnataka government is working with Indian authorities and officials in Nepal.

One survivor, Mallinath, spoke with the Chief Minister about escaping the disaster.

He said two buses traveling ahead of his were missing.

Mallinath said the people on those buses were from West Bengal.

The government is asking people to remain safe while rescue and return efforts continue.
