15,000 Kerala Students Train in Weather Science
In Kerala, India, nearly 15,000 school students are learning about weather science in special camps.
These camps teach them how to build weather monitoring tools using robots and computers.
The students are learning to measure things like temperature, wind speed, and humidity to predict the weather.
They are also making animations and 3D models.
The camps are part of a big program called Little KITEs, which helps students become creators of technology.
The program aims to teach skills like programming, robotics, and digital content creation.
In the future, more advanced tools will be introduced in all schools.
14,804 students from 2,248 Little KITEs units are participating in two-day camps across 225 centres in Kerala.
Students are trained in programming, electronics, and digital content creation to develop weather monitoring instruments.
Participants build working models of weather station equipment using robotic kits, LDR sensor modules, servo motors, and Arduino components.
The programme aims to cultivate innovation and technical excellence in students, teaching skills in AI, robotics, IoT, and animation.
Students are producing digital content using OpenToonz and creating 3D models with Blender.
