Minor Dies as Land Subsidence Damages Dhanbad Houses

The ground suddenly sank in a coal-mining area of Dhanbad.

Several houses were damaged in the incident.

A 12-year-old boy later died while receiving treatment.

At least four other people were injured.

Seven homes were reported damaged.

Some residents blocked a road because they were angry and worried about safety.

Officials and the coal company spoke with the affected families.

The company said it would move them to a safer place.

Officials said families usually receive compensation of Rs 2.5-3 lakh in such cases.

An elected representative said illegal mining may have weakened the ground and called for an investigation.
