Taiwan Semiconductor Output Forecast Raised for 2025
Taiwan's semiconductor industry is expected to grow a lot in the next couple of years.
Experts predict that the industry will be worth over $200 billion in 2025, which is a big increase from previous estimates.
This growth is happening because more and more companies are using advanced chips for things like artificial intelligence.
The company that makes most of the world's chips, TSMC, also thinks their sales will grow a lot.
This is good news for Taiwan's economy, especially for the companies that make the chips and the factories where they're made.
ITRI increased its 2025 output value forecast for Taiwan's semiconductor industry to over 22%.
The forecast anticipates NT$6.5 trillion (US$216.67 billion) in output in 2025.
The IC manufacturing segment is expected to see a 27.5% increase in output.
TSMC, the world's largest chipmaker, also raised its sales growth forecast to 30% for 2025.
The growth is attributed to strong global demand for advanced chips due to AI applications.
