BCCI Clarifies Position on National Sports Governance Act

BCCI Clarifies Position on National Sports Governance Act

The BCCI held its annual general meeting on Friday.

Members discussed a new law for governing sports.

The BCCI said cricket must first be officially named a designated sport under the law.

After that happens, it said it will follow the law’s rules.

The BCCI also said it does not receive government grants.

Because of this, it said the RTI Act would not apply to it.

The organization approved better payments and new grades for umpires and referees.

It also plans celebrations for its 100th year in 2028.
