Trump Land: Separatist Fantasy Rooted in Diaspora Grievances
A group called Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) has proposed creating a new Christian-majority state called 'Trump Land' in India's Northeast.
This idea started after a plea for help was made in a church in Surrey, Canada, in 2023.
The group claims that Christians in India are being persecuted and wants to create this new state to protect them.
They even asked the US President and the United Nations for help.
The Indian government says this is a fake plan to cause trouble and divide the country.
The Northeast is very important for India because it has lots of natural resources and guards the country's eastern borders.
The government needs to fix problems in the Northeast to stop such ideas from growing.
A separatist group proposed a new Christian-majority state called 'Trump Land' in India's Northeast, unveiled on 27 December, 2025.
The idea originated from a 2023 plea for help in a Surrey gurdwara, led by a Khalistani separatist.
The group claims Christians in India are facing persecution and seeks international support for the new state.
Indian authorities view this as a coordinated effort to exploit internal grievances and cause division.
The Northeast is strategically important for India's security and economy, making this proposal a serious concern.
