UK Sanctions Businessman Over Terrorism Funding

UK Sanctions Businessman Over Terrorism Funding

The UK government has put sanctions on a British Sikh businessman named Gurpreet Singh Rehal and a group called Babbar Akali Lehar.

They are accused of supporting a terrorist group called Babbar Khalsa, which is involved in violence in India.

The sanctions mean that their assets are frozen, and Rehal cannot be a director of any company.

The UK says this is to stop terrorists from using their financial system.

Rehal was involved with a sports investment firm called Panjab Warriors, which recently bought a football club, but they say he is no longer part of their organization.

The UK is working to protect its national security and peaceful communities from terrorism.
