NGO Reports Severe Neglect in GHMC ABC Centres
An NGO called AASRA visited animal birth control centres in Hyderabad and found very bad conditions.
They said the centres are overcrowded, and the dogs are not being taken care of properly.
The NGO reported that the dogs are stressed, not getting the right food, and some are even getting sick.
They also said the centres are not following the rules for keeping animals.
However, the GHMC officials said they are doing everything correctly and have been praised for their work.
They mentioned that they have appointed new officers and are following the Supreme Court's rules.
NGO AASRA reported severe neglect and overcrowding in GHMC ABC centres during inspections.
Activists alleged that overcrowding might harm animals and that the centres lack proper infrastructure and care.
GHMC officials denied allegations, stating they follow Supreme Court rules and have achieved 85% sterilisation.
NGO claims dogs are not receiving essential vaccinations and are being kept in traumatic conditions.
GHMC has appointed nodal officers and is working on identifying land for new animal shelters.
