Airplane-Sized Asteroid Set to Safely Pass Earth
A space rock, 2025 OW, the size of a plane, is going to whizz by Earth.
Don't worry, it's going to be far away, so it's not dangerous.
NASA is watching it and many other space rocks too.
They know exactly when it will pass by.
It's like when a car drives past on the highway; it's traveling fast, but it doesn't hit you because it's far away.
Scientists are used to these space events.
An asteroid named 2025 OW is approaching Earth and will pass safely on July 28.
The asteroid is estimated to be about 210 feet across, similar in size to a large airplane.
It will travel at approximately 46,908 miles per hour at a distance of around 393,000 miles from Earth.
NASA confirms the asteroid poses no threat and close approaches are a regular occurrence.
Another asteroid, 2025 OX, will also pass Earth on July 26 at a much greater distance.
