Heavy Rain Ends as Monsoon Withdrawal Nears Madhya Pradesh
Heavy rain in Madhya Pradesh is expected to stop for a few days.
Weather officials do not expect an active monsoon system to affect the state during that time.
This means more sunshine should appear, especially in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain and Gwalior divisions.
The monsoon may start moving away from the state on Wednesday or Thursday.
Some western districts may be sunny as early as Tuesday.
Other places could still have clouds, drizzle or light rain.
Rainfall has not been equal across the state, with some areas getting more than usual and others getting less.
The report gives different rainfall descriptions for a few eastern districts, including Jabalpur and Rewa.
Madhya Pradesh is expected to get a break from heavy rain as no active monsoon system is forecast to affect the state for four days.
The Southwest Monsoon may begin withdrawing from Madhya Pradesh between Wednesday and Thursday, with Ujjain and Gwalior divisions possibly among the first affected.
Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa and Burhanpur are forecast to see sunshine on Tuesday, while other areas may have clouds and light rain.
Sunny weather is expected to spread across most of the state from Wednesday and continue through October 2.
Rainfall has varied widely, with some eastern divisions near 4% above normal while several districts recorded deficits of 2% to 51%; the report gives conflicting figures for some areas.
